'05 Honda Element

If the CR-V was designed for families, the 2005 Honda Element is certainly designed for a younger generation of driver that prefer sportier looks. The 2005 Element is a compact SUV in a class of its own with its radically styled exterior.

The '05 Element is powered by a peppy 2.4 liter I-4 engine. Although this engine is practically the same as the one in the CR-V, it has an improved horsepower of 160hp. The torque generated by this engine is a good 161lb-ft. The fuel-injection system is based on multi-point technology to give an excellent mileage of 24mpg on highways.

Notable features in the 2005 Honda Element include the side doors having a center-opening design. Both all-wheel drive version and front-wheel drive versions are available. The transmission is either manual or automatic. Some body panels are designed using plastic to promote the sporty appearance.

The 2007 Honda Element increases its appeal for the younger generation by introducing a sportier model in its range of compact SUVs designed for the youth. The wagon is capable of seating up to four persons. The SC trim level, on the other hand, poses an entirely new style statement with its sporty configuration and modified trim.

The improved engine in the 2007 Element accounts for the improved powertrain in the 2005 model of the CR-V. The new engine, an I-4 having a displacement of 2.4 liters, generates a horsepower of 166hp. The five-speed automatic transmission that goes with the engine in the CR-V is also available in the 2007 model of the Element.

Multiple airbags are incorporated to increase the safety of the 2007 Honda Element. Newly introduced in the 2007 Element are curtain-side airbags. The anti-lock braking system (ABS) is also available to improve braking stability.

'06 Honda Element

The 2006 Honda Element incorporates quite a few upgrades since its previous model. The changes for the 2006 model year are mainly to improve the styling and the stability.

Even though this compact vehicle is designed largely along the CR-V – one of the best-acclaimed compact SUVs to be released by Honda – this vehicle continues to be in a class of its own as a sporty-looking wagon designed for the youth.

The engine of the 2006 Honda Element is practically the same engine that the 2006 CR-V utilizes. This I-4 engine having a capacity of 2.4 liters is capable of generating up to 156 horsepower. An automatic transmission is provided in all the models, a manual five-speed transmission being optional.

The 2006 Element has improved handling and braking, owing to the fact that the anti-lock braking system (ABS) is made standard for all the models from this model year. Multiple airbags are provided to enhance the safety of the passengers.
